The Process
Five steps to your new best friend
Complete an application form
Start online — it takes just a few minutes. Tell us about your lifestyle, your home, your experience with dogs, and what you're looking for. This helps us suggest animals who will genuinely thrive with you.
Apply OnlineConsultation
We'll talk through your application and discuss suitable dogs. No pressure — this is a conversation, not an interview.
Landlord approval (if applicable)
If you rent your home, we'll need written approval from your landlord before proceeding. Some tenancy agreements don't allow pets, and we must ensure your new dog has a secure legal home. Please check your agreement and include accurate landlord details on your form.
Home visit
Completely informal. Our main concern is garden security — rescue dogs, particularly those from the pound, can be escape artists until they settle into their new home. We'll advise on any improvements needed and work with you to get everything ready. We're on your side.
Offer and rehoming agreement
Once all checks are complete, we'll match you with a dog and ask you to sign a rehoming agreement. Then it's time to bring your new best friend home.
Rehoming Donation
The cost of vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, neutering or spaying, microchipping, and full care prior to rehoming exceeds £250 per dog if arranged privately. We ask for a minimum donation of £110 when rehoming a dog (which includes the £5 dog licence fee). This contribution goes directly back into caring for the animals who are still waiting.
